Description
RAN Fluency Boards allow students the opportunity to practice with naming automaticity. The goal is to complete each board as quickly and as accurately as possible. When completing a RAN fluency board, students should be instructed to move from left to right just like when reading a book, Mimicking the flow of reading a book also helps to reinforce appropriate reading tracking. Timing the student will allow for monitoring of progress.
In this product, you will receive a total of twenty different RAN Boards. There are five boards for each form of stimuli: numbers, words, images, and colors. You will also receive a progress monitoring data sheet to help track student development.
The RAN Boards can be used in a variety of ways: 1. Print and laminate each board and use as a center task. Students can time themselves or work with a partner for extra monitoring and timing support. 2. Use as an intervention for students struggling with automaticity and/or processing speed (remember- the progress monitoring data sheet is included, too!). 3. Screen students for potential difficulties in reading. 4. Send home for students to receive additional practice and engage families in a low-demand task.
