A positive school culture cannot exist without effective communication! Just as teachers are mindful so communicate academic and behavioral expectations to students, school leaders must be mindful to communicate similar expectations to staff.ย
One very important set of expectations school leaders should communicate pertains to Instructional Time, and this can easily be accomplished through a well-developed set of “Frequently Asked Questions.” I created this Instructional Time FAQs document for my middle-school teaching staff and shared it (three questions at time) in my weekly newsletter. It served its purpose well with my staff, and I am confident it can serve a purpose for you and your staff, too!
